For more than two centuries, our volunteers have stepped forward to ensure that when the alarm sounds, help is on the way. Today, that help arrives in sophisticated, highly specialized apparatus that costs more than ever before — but saves more lives than ever imagined.
We cannot do this alone. As volunteers, we give our time. We now ask for your partnership to ensure we can continue protecting Westminster for the next 200 years.
While our commitment has never changed, the tools required to serve you safely and effectively have evolved dramatically.
In 2021, we placed into service a new aerial platform ladder truck, replacing a 24-year-old apparatus that had faithfully served our community. The cost of that life-saving vehicle was $1,232,180. This specialized truck enables us to reach the upper floors of apartment buildings and commercial properties, deliver powerful elevated water streams to control large fires, and safely rescue residents from heights when seconds matter most. In a city environment, this capability is not optional — it is essential.
As we look ahead, we are in the investigation stage for our next critical investment, the future replacement of an aging frontline fire engine, with a projected cost exceeding $1,500,000. Apparatus costs continue to rise due to enhanced safety standards, advanced technology, and increased manufacturing expenses. As a volunteer department without dedicated local government funding for firefighting apparatus replacement, we rely heavily on community support to meet these significant financial demands.
That is why we are asking for your partnership.
Your contribution is an investment in the safety of your family, your neighbors, and your property. It ensures that when the alarm sounds, we respond with safe, modern, and reliable equipment.
For over two centuries, this community has supported its volunteer fire department. Because of that support, we have continued to evolve and meet the demands of a changing world. With your help, we will continue protecting Westminster for generations to come.
Thank you for your continued trust and support.
With gratitude,
The Officers and Members
